Filed under: Actionscript 2.0, Flash, Web design — webdesignnews @ 11:20 pm

N.Design studio has made a nice CSS dock menu similar to the mac menu. It’s really neat and works well. However there are some annoying elements, like the lod cursor that blinks all the time. I thought this should be made in flash instead to get it even smoother and faster to load. This will be done when I can find the time. This is post is a little remember for me to do it later.

IE ActiveX Update April 19, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — webdesignnews @ 5:29 pm

In 2004 Microsoft lost a law-suit to Eolas Technologies concerning “Distributed hypermedia method for automatically invoking external application providing interaction and display of embedded objects within a hypermedia document”. This resulted in a quite annoying detail when embedding flash objects. When hovered, the flash object gets a little grey-dotted border around. And if you use this as a menu, you need to click two times, one to activate the .swf and another click to press the selected button. When you crawling yourself through a website, this gets rather frustrating.

Wintzell have a solution to get rid of the border and active the flash object immideately. IE ActiveX Update - active objects.
