How to search for a scholar or a subject

If you want to search the blog for notes of a particular scholar or a subject. First look at labels and see if you can find them there if you cannot then use the search function at the top of the screen and put the name or subject in. i.e. Sheikh Fulan and it will bring up all the relevent information.

Abu Al Abbas Al Mursi said, "All the Prophets were created from mercy: however our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is mercy itself."

Abu Hassan As-Shadhali said, "Love entails God's taking his servant's heart away from everything but him."

The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever increases in knowledge and does not increase in guidance, only increases in distance from Allah."

Someone gave the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) honey, he asked Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) what is was, he said, "Honey, O' Messenger of Allah." He asked Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) , he said, "Honey, O' Messenger of Allah." Then he asked Ali ibn Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), who tasted some and said, "Its honey, O' Messenger of Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon be him) said, "The one who tastes, knows."

The Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Anger comes from the devil, who was created from fire, which is extinguished by water. Should anyone one of you get angry, let him make ablution."

Imam Qusheri had a favourite student and people noticed that he liked him, others students became jealous.

So he set all of his students a test, kill a bird but do it where nobody is watching. The students came back one by one with their birds killed except the favourite student.
He said, “I couldn’t find any spot where no one was looking.” The other students stopped and realised why he liked him so much.

(He always knew that Allah Subhanu wa ta’ala was looking at him.)

Shaykh Al-Arabi Darqawi said, “If you want to treat your enemy with what is duly deserving for him, preoccupy yourself with the love of the beloved, for if you preoccupy yourself with hate and enmity then the enemy get from you what he wanted and you have the lost opportunity to love the beloved.” From his Epistles, 13th Cent.

Ibn Ata'llah said, “People praise you for what they suppose is in you, but you must blame your soul for what you know is in you.” Hikam number 142

Prophet Yahya (upon him peace) was passing some children who were playing when they said to him, "play with us." He replied, "Subhanllah, it is not for this have we been created."

Ibn Ata'llah said, "No one is a companion of yours except the one who knowing your defects, is your companion and that is only the generous Lord.” Hikam number 135.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "A person who teaches others while neglecting his own soul is like an oil lamp, which illimates others while burning itself out." At-Tabarani

In an Hadith Qudsi, Allah Subhau wa ta'ala said, "I am with those whose hearts are broken for my sake."

Ibn Ata'llah said, “Sometimes he gives whilst depriving you and sometimes he deprives you, in giving.” Hikam number 83

Ibn Ata'llah said, "Suffice it as a recompense to you for obedience, that he has judged you worthy of obedience." Hikam number 90

Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi (May Allah have mercy upon him) said, "Anyone who believes himself safe from criticism and reproach is out of his mind." In pursuit of virtue p.125

Fudail Ibn Iyad (may Allah's Ta'ala mercy be with him) said, “In the world, the believer is overwhelmed by sadness and is ready to be taken.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Envy consumes good deeds as the fire consumes wood."

Jesus (upon him peace) said, "The world is a bridge, so pass over it to the next world , but do not try to build on it."

Muhammad ibn Ahmed Al-Buzaydi said, "Nothing prevents people from obtaining what they desire except their sincerity, so do understand."

Jabir ibn 'Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Every correct action is sadaqa."

Salman Al-Farsi (May Allah be pleased with him) said, "If a slave abstains from the world, his heart becomes illuminated with wisdom and his limbs reciprocate in worship." Minhaj Al-abideen by Imam Ghazali.

Sidi Ahmed Zarruq said, “The safest place for your secret is your (own) heart.”

Al-Aqida at-Tahawiah by Imam Abu Jafr At-Atahawi. "Belief consists of: belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last day and belief that the Decree both the good and the bad, the sweet and the bitter are all from Allah Ta'ala." Number 66.

Abu Barza al-Aslami said, "I said, 'Messenger of Allah, show me an action by which I will enter the Garden!" He said, 'Remove harmful things from people's path.'"

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Teach and make things easy and not difficult. When one of you is angry, he should be silent."

Abu Hurayra said, "When he faced someone, he faced him completely. When he turned away, he turned away completely. I have never seen anyone like him and I will never see anyone like them."

Al-Mustawrid reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If anyone eats a meal at the expense of a Muslim's honour, Allah will feed him a like amount of Hellfire. If anyone clothes himself with a garment at the expense of a Muslim's honour, Allah will clothe him with a like amount of Hellfire. If anyone achieves a position of showing-off and hypocrisy at the expense of a Muslim's honour, Allah will put him in a position of showing-off and hypocrisy on the Day of Rising. "

'Ubayd al-Kindi al-Kufi reported that he heard 'Ali ibn Abi Talib said, "The cursers are cursed."

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "When you want to mention your companion's faults, remember your own faults."

Abu Dharr said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, what if a man loves a people but cannot join them?' He replied, 'Abu Dharr, you are with the one you love.' I said, 'I love Allah and His Messenger.' He said, 'Abu Dharr, you are with the one you love.'"

Sa'id ibn Abi Burda related from his grandfather that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Every Muslim owes sadaqa." He said, "What do you think he should do if he cannot find anything to give?" He replied, "He should find work and thus benefit himself and be able to give sadaqa." He said, "What do you think he should do if he cannot or does not do that?" He said, "He should help someone with a great need." He said, "What do you think he should do if he cannot or does not do that?" He replied, "He should command the good." He asked, "What do you think he should do if he cannot or does not do that?" He replied, "He should refrain from evil. That is sadaqa for him."

The person who walks into the king’s court with a high head should be careful, he will get his head chopped off. As for the person who enters the kings court in submission, in humility will remain in the safety and pleasure of the king.
