GOM Player - power added media player
Saturday, October 07, 2006
Good to found this gem on the internet. So far it's played almost everything I've thrown at it and it seems to have pretty much every feature I could have asked for - it really does look like they've taken out all the good bits from the other power media players and combined them altogether. Gomplayer come with popular audio & video codecs built-in so there no need to install codecs separately!I'm still playing with it but I'm really pleased with what I've see so far - it's got hotkeys, buttons, EVERYTHING. anyone curious I really do recommend you giving GOM a try.

FAST, FREE VPN CONNECTIONS
Thursday, October 05, 2006
NEED TO GET CONNECTED TO ANOTHER MACHINE OVER THE Internet? Consider Hamachi, a zero-configuration virtual private network (VPN) that runs as client and server software on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows 2000, XP, and 2003. It let you create a network and connect Windows PCs to it regardless of the presence of firewalls or address translation devices on the route between them as long as they had Internet access. Each node joins a password-protected network mediated by a server that Hamachi runs. This is a handy free tool for creating VPNs quickly and easily.

You love Pop-Up with Browster
Wednesday, October 04, 2006
Tired of clicking into and back out of search result links? Browster is a genuinely useful and free ad-supported Web page preview window that opens the landing page without clicking through in your main browser. The add-on for Internet Explorer and Firefox puts lightning bolt icons next to every link on the search page; just hover your mouse over the link to bring up a site's window. The pop-up is a full-featured browser, so you can explore the target site, but it will disappear when you move the mouse off of the Browster window. This is one widget we actually use every day.

IM Everywhere - Meebo
Tuesday, October 03, 2006
The problem with IM software, even the cool clients that aggregate multiple accounts, is that it stays with your PC. Sure you can download the software onto someone else's machine, but that can be rude or, worse, make it easy for that PC's owner to log back onto your IM account.Meebo (www.meebo.com) offers a better Web-based approach that lets you log into Yahoo!, AIM, Jabber/GTalk, or MSN IM from a single screen and from any Web browser. Meebo generates an in-browser IM client that aggregates your buddies across all accounts. Really, there is not much more to say about Meebo other than that it works.

What can I say thats good about this great program? I mean, this program does what it is designed for, and it goes above and beyond. This competes with even the best commercial tools likes snagit or hypersnap. It does everything the average screenshot taker will need, plus more.Screenshot Captor is a screen capture tool that offers some unique features in addition to the standard screenshot options. You can capture active windows, selected regions, fixed regions, or the entire desktop. The capture can then be enhanced with several blur and shadow effects to emphasize parts of the capture, and you can also add a drop shadow to the entire image. Suppors gif, png, jpg, tiff and others.
