What a Weight Loss Patch Can Do for You

A weight loss patch can function for you in two ways. First, a weight loss patch can act as a delivery system for a weight loss supplement, and second, as a reminder system.

Delivery system

Weight loss patches are normally worn for a period of 24 hours. Because of this, it is an effective delivery system because it guarantees that you don't miss a dose of your weight loss supplement as it in itself delivers doses in a scheduled manner throughout the 24-hour period. Apart from this, because it bypasses the digestive processes in your body (as compared to weight loss supplements in tablet/capsule forms), your body absorbs substances better, leading them to working faster in aiding your weight loss efforts.

The use of a weight loss patch is also convenient. All you have to do is stick it in and you can basically forget about it until the time you have to change it. You can go about your day and still ensure that you're managing your weight loss regimen as scheduled without having to bring around bottles of weight loss supplements.

Reminder system

To a lesser degree, a weight loss patch can also be used as a reminder system in any weight loss regimen. Think of it like a ribbon around your finger. While you can just stick them on and forget about them for 24 hours, weight loss patches can help you stay focused and disciplined in following your weight loss regimen because you are still aware that you are using them. Because you know you are wearing a weight loss patch, you are reminded that you are currently under a weight loss regimen and can deter any possible lapses in your will power. And when you strictly follow your weight loss regimen, you increase your chances of attaining your weight loss goals as scheduled.

Parents Need to Wake Up to their Overweight Child

My heart sank, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My 13 year old sons friend said he couldn't do it, he said his mom would never let him do it. She wouldn't go for anything like that. My sons friend is heavy, overweight, however you would nicely like to say it.

My son and I have started a website on dieting for healthy kids , with foods they actually like to eat. We asked my sons friend if he would like to be our spokes model for the website. To take the before and after photos to show a weight reduction.

He knew we were doing the site, so it was no surprise to him. He didn't really even give it a fighting chance. He rushed right in and said, that he would like to do it, but his mom would never let him, that she wouldn't even look at the website.

If Michael, my son gains a few pounds we acknowledge it, and he starts being careful with his eating, as shown on the website. Watching his weight is part of his life and most peoples. What do parents of kids that are overweight think, that it is good for them. I think what happens is they get stuck in a cycle.

The cycle is everyday people have the same routines in their lives, like the child who eats breakfast with no thought of fat or calories, because nobody ever told them. Then comes the school lunch, whatever looks good. We get home and have any snack we like. After that comes moms great dinner. A lot of households are like this. The child`s weight is never spoken of, if they have a little extra wiggle and jiggle. The child could be upset about it at times but lets it go, because they feel they could never have that big of a change in their house. That the parents could stop making the dinners during the week, or make light, low fat meals, and buy some lower calorie foods and make some changes.

The child shouldn't have to say anything, parents need to be involved. The child really isn`t sure what is right and what is wrong and how to go about losing weight safely.

Kids actually have it better than adults, due to the fact they are still growing. Where an adult who gains weight easy has to be very careful, a kid just needs some guidance and the weight can be kept in control. We need to start showing the kids how to be carful with food so they don`t grow up and catch on to the bad crash diets.

They need to be shown earlier in life so it is in their head like when they go to a restaurant and order a Big Mac and Large fry twice a week, and then wonder when they grow up, why their fat. They could also become anorexic because they were never shown careful habits, and that their household was like the everyday one I described, and they don`t know what else to do.

Kids being overweight can cause Type 2 Diabetes, and in their adult life it can lead to heart diease.

Parents do freak out when they hear the words diet, kids, child weight loss, they are in denial and either think it will go away, or it is okay. My heart sank when that boy told me that he couldn't, because I knew what he meant, that parent and household would not change a thing.

Fitness Training & Exercise for Weight Loss

All my life as what i had been experience when i had a weight problem . The part of the problem is genetics and another part is poor eating habits. I had accepted this as my way of life, until our daughter started also to have a weight problem. We discussed our weight and decided that we would work on the issue together. Along with eating healthier we started fitness training. We all could use a bit more fitness training in our lives. Those who do not certainly know who they are. As for the rest of us, getting into shape is instant. Well, that is if you want to live a long and healthy life without the burdens of high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, and heart failure. Yeah, you pretty much heard me correctly. This is why I adopted a great fitness training program.

Both of us changed significantly when we started our new way of living tow years ago. The fitness training has not only toned our muscles and reduced our weight, but it has also improved our self esteem. I didn't realize myself having a low self esteemed before starting fitness training, but i realize that many of the decision in my life have centered on my weight. I have been involved with countless diets over the years. I have arthritis so I often used this as a reason to not consistently exercise. All of that changed by being motivated to help my daughter and by finding fitness training that was right for me.

After we started dieting, my daughter and I joined a health club. The club employs several personal trainers, but we thought we would develop our own program. One day as when we started using the fitness equipment one of the trainers started giving my daughter tips on her posture as she was using the treadmill and started talking to us about important posture in fitness training. He also told us that we should include weight lifting to build strength in our upper bodies. My daughter thought it would be fun to have a full fitness training session with the personal trainer so we signed up for a time the next week.

And that was the beginning of our transformations. Having a professional guiding us was extremely helpful. We worked harder at the fitness training while at the club and we were more motivated to walk and bike on the days that we were at home. After two years we have both lost weight and have toned our muscles. e have also grown much closer to each other because we openly discuss the concerns about our weight. I believe that the fitness training kept us motivated at first and now the positive effects of the weight loss are keeping us committed to our new way of life.

We all know that it is possible to love your fitness training regime. I integrated a regular training ritual into my weekly fitness training program. This offers me better self-defense skills and a good cardio workout. For all you guys out there, this is the ultimate way to bulge up. And NO it's not steroids! The funny thing about steroids is that a lot of guys take them and don't even gain any muscle mass whatsoever. You need to do some heavy weight training to get stacked. You have to push those muscles and empty them that will causes the fibers to tear and grow back bigger and stronger.

It's funny because not too long ago I changed my fitness training program. After doing some intense research on the web, i have found out that i was doing too much. Can you believe that? I needed to cut my weight training. I pushed it to the limits with three chest exercises and a total of 12 sets. This was wrong! Not the exercises or sets themselves, but the three times per week. I should have been doing this once each week. Your muscles need that 7 day period in between to heal and grow. Without proper recovery, you're wasting your time.

It's time to get involved if you have already figured out a decent fitness training program for your body and goals. If you need more assistance regarding on this, then maybe the Internet can offer some ideas. So, what are you waiting for get on line now and sort through infinite fitness training programs that suits nearly to you.

Six Easy Ways to Eat More Healthfully

With so much 'diet advice' around today it is little wonder if you feel somewhat confused. Whether you are wanting to lose weight, maintain your weight or help your family eat more healthfully....these six, simple ideas will help you to eat more heathfully.

1 Stay away from the inside aisles
When you grocery shop, fill up your trolley from the aisles around the outside the perimeter of the store. This is where the fresh fruit, vegetables and fresh foods are kept.

2 Eat small amounts frequently
Don't allow yourself to get hungry. Keep your appetite in control with smaller meals and healthy snacks in between.

3 Keep close to nature
Fresh is best and generally much better for you than pre-packaged. For example, a fresh potato baked in its jacket is more healthy than pre-packaged "potato au gratin".

4 Experiment and use spices
Get used to cooking with a wide variety of spices. It's possible to get fabulous flavor with spices without adding high calorie fats and oils.

5 Read "fat free" labels carefully
Many "fat free" items contain additional carbohydrates in the form of sugar or fructose to compensate for reduced flavor and can do more to add to your weight than the "full strength" product.

6 Use low fat dairy products
For adults, much healthier as low fat dairy products have the nutrients without the extra fat.

Here's the Key to Weight Loss Success!

Here's the difference between successful weight loss and unsuccessful results. In just a moment, I am going to give you the key that will unlock any fitness goal you may have now or any fitness goal you may have in the future.

It is the secret to permanent weight loss, muscle gain, and superb health.

No magic, no potions, no screaming "Eureka, I've Found It!"

No fluff, just a fact.

Are you ready for this secret, the one that will unlock any wish or desire you may have regarding fitness, weight loss, muscle gain...etc.

O.K. here it comes. Want to sit down for it?

The key to everlasting weight(fat) loss is:

------------------ **You choose it!** ------------------

Huh?

Yes, weight loss, muscle gain, any fitness goal you may have is simply a choice that you make.

In fact, I could end this article with that said (some of you probably wish that I would ;-)

Anything you want in life, any goal or desire can be yours if you simply choose to go after it.

Things just do not fall into place naturally and without effort.

Yes, they do fall, just not where you want them to.

You must first "think" of what it is you want and then choose to go after it.

And if you do not get what you want?

Try it again.

Forget blame.

Forget victim talk.

Forget excuses.

If you want it, choose to get it.

After you choose it, if you are persistent enough and work hard enough, whatever you wish for can be yours.

Want to lose some body fat? Choose to.

Want to gain some muscle and increase your strength? Choose to.

Increase flexibility? Eat better? Choose to.

Life boils down to a series of choices.

The better choices you make, the better your life will be.

You can choose to slim down and fit into those jeans or you can choose that piece of cheesecake.

You can choose to get behind the wheel after drinking or you can choose to hand the keys to a friend.

Some of the choices you make have a long lasting and dramatic impact on your life forever.

Regarding weight loss, muscle gain, and fitness, how can you make sure that you are making choices that will help your efforts, not hurt them?

Easy, follow a plan of action that has already helped many others achieve their long lasting fitness and weight loss goals.

Over the years, I have learned precisely what needs to be done to lose weight and gain muscle.

Now, I am able to save my clients valuable time by cutting out their trial and error, having them focus solely on the things that produce results.

Bottom line, if you choose to go after something, you can be assured that it's within your reach because others have already accomplished it.

Any problem that you may face in life, chances are that someone has faced it and has already battled and conquered it.

Just follow what it is they did to come out on top.

If losing some weight (fat) is one of your priorities, you can rest assured that many others have already done it.

So the question of whether or not it's possible is not an issue.

It's just your turn to go get it.

I leave you on this note:

**The choices we make dictate the lives we lead**.

Where you are today is the result of all the choices you have made up to this point.

If you want better, you must make better choices. You can either move ahead or stay behind.

The choice is yours.

Balancing Your Hormones Naturally -- What To Do First

by: Dr. Loretta Lanphier, ND, CN, HHP

One of the questions that I frequently get asked is "What steps do I need to take to begin getting my hormones in balance?" The following is what I suggest:

  1. Test your hormone levels. This should be done by utilizing both saliva testing and blood testing. For more information on how you can do this yourself call Oasis Advanced Wellness about how to obtain kits to use in the privacy of your own home. You will need to test for estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA and cortisol.

  2. Educate yourself on the topic of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and balancing your hormones naturally. A good place to start is my e-book--Balancing Your Hormones Without Drugs...You Can Feel Good Again and also at www.menopause-pms-progesterone.org. This will not only address your hormone issues but also help you to bring your whole body into balance...from the comfort of your own home. You can purchase this at www.oasisserene.com.

  3. Take your results to a healthcare professional that you trust and one that works with bio-identical hormones. If you cannot find a healthcare professional in your area we offer telephone consults and will be glad to assist you in reaching your health goals. Make sure that you employ a healthcare professional that will work as a team-player. Ultimately, you are the one responsible for your health - not your doctor.

  4. If you are currently on HRT go to www.oasisserene.com for instructions on how to get off HRT. You will need to wean yourself off gradually.

  5. As good as bio-identical hormones replacement therapy is, it is not an end-all. Your goal should be to bring your body into total health and balance.

  6. Be willing to address detoxification, diet, water in-take, supplementation, exercise, physical / emotional stress and environment. This is a MUST.

  7. Once you start on a program your hormone levels should be monitored every three months for one year. This eliminates all the guesswork as to whether or not what you are doing is actually working. The goal should be to get your system balanced and to hopefully stimulate the hormones to start producing again.

About Supplements: It would be easy for me to include, in the above suggestions, vitamin/supplement recommendations like B-Complex, Vitamin E, etc. The reason that I do not is because many will go to a local drugstore or grocery store to purchase these supplements. All supplements/vitamins are not created equal. Sometimes the fillers and excipients can negate any benefit that you might get from the vitamin. I believe this is one reason why natural medicine is not taken seriously by many people. They tried a $9.95 supplement and it did not work, so therefore the reasoning is that using a natural approach does not work. It can be over whelming and time consuming to decide which supplements are best and which ones will work. This is why I believe it is important to have a healthcare professional on your team who is trained in knowing what supplements will be absorbed, transported and utilized effectively by the body. For information about the supplements that we recomm!

end to our clients get the e-book - Balancing Your Hormones Without Drugs. You Can Feel Good Again.

At Oasis Advanced Wellness, we not only specialize in getting the hormones in balance for women and men, but in the process we will help you to get your whole body in balance. For many it is the first time in a long, long time that they begin to experience true health and well-being. We can help you, too.

10 Tips To Reduce Fat In Your Diet

1. Steam, boil, broil, or microwave vegetables, or stir-fry them in a small amount of vegetable oil.

2. Season vegetables with herbs and spices rather than sauces, butter, or margarine.

3. Try lemon juice or fat-free dressing on salad, or use a yogurt based dressing instead of mayonnaise or
sour cream dressing.

4. To reduce saturated fat, use vegetable oil or tub margarine instead of butter or stick margarine when
possible.

5. Replace whole milk with skim or low-fat milk in puddings, soups, and baked products. Substitute plain
nonfat yogurt, blender-whipped cottage cheese, low-fat sour cream, or buttermilk in recipes that call for sour cream.

6. Choose lean cuts of meat, and trim any visible fat from meat before and after cooking. Remove skin from
poultry before or after cooking. Monitor portion sizes. (Lean meats end in "loin".)

7. Roast, bake, or broil meat, poultry, or fish, so that fat drains away as the food cooks.

8. Use a nonstick pan for cooking so added fat will be unnecessary, use a vegetable spray for frying.

9. Chill broths from meat or poultry until the fat becomes solid. Spoon off the fat before using the broth.

10. Eat a low-fat vegetarian main dish at least once a week.
