I don’t think this is really “the love of Christ”

Girls, we are to be “living epistles” of God’s goodness and grace. Right?

Well, just because we are to be “known and read by all men,” I’m sure this latest study is not what God has in mind when he inspired Paul to write that. From the press release:

A national survey of 779 U.S. Christian women conducted by NationalChristianPoll.com shows more than a quarter personally experienced sexually inappropriate behavior, and one-fourth who experienced it said it happened in a church or ministry setting.

I realize that’s not scientific by any means, but why is this the case? I know, I know. You are thinking about that one girl in singles who dresses like… well, she’ll ALWAYS be single. I’m talking about that (although that is funny).

There are women in Christian environments across the country who get those looks, those comments and maybe those touches from other so-called Christian men. Ladies, this press release has an alarming headline, “Are women SILENT VICTIMS of sexual harassment?”

That should never be the case. We are equipped with the same spirit of boldness men have. Don’t ever be afraid to stand up for the rights God has given you and to be the women you righteously are. Not to mention, the U.S. Penal Code says you have certain rights of which those men may need to be reminded.

At any rate, we are all to have hands of love [cool picture, huh?]. So the next time you are approached by one of the dirty old men mentioned in this press release, make sure there is no inappropriate “laying on of hands.” Let’s keep them biblical, girls. :)

What say you?

HIS View: More women, fewer babies, end of a civilization?

Wait, I thought this was a “Girl Talk” and “God Talk” blog. What’s “His View”… some way to say what God is thinking about Velocytes and young women as a whole? Probably not, but it makes you think.

No, it’s an acronym the ladies will get to see much more in the future: H.I.S. - “Having Ingenue Speculations” Kristie K may throw me a story or two that involves women, your walk with Christ or how the world watches you walk, period. That said, I had this peculiar thought not too long ago and I passed in Kristie K’s direction.

She says, “You understand Velocytes are young, pretty, beginning the rest of our lives, or some haven’t even found a man… so why are we talking about this?!” I get it,  Kristie K. Let’s talk about God, fashion, entertainment and call it a day. Well, this made me think a little deeper - like Pacific Ocean-ish.

This article in the Miami Herald made me think A LOT about the decrease in childbirth and the apparent increase in career women.

Is there a connection, and if so, why?

According to this article, it seems women these days can’t juggle a career and children? Why is it that young women (like you) get shoved in a corner, and are forced to choose, “OK, chic! What’s it gonna be? Excel up the food chain on the job, or just get food thrown at you all day and that is your job. You can’t have both. Now choose.”

Read this from the story:

In the last 30 years, the number of women age 40 to 44 with no children has doubled, from 10 percent to 20 percent. And those who are mothers have an average of 1.9 children each, more than one child fewer than women of the same age in 1976.

Ladies, I am not trying to scare you into a bad relationship to forego your quest for “Mr. Right” and just venture out to secure “Mr. Right Now.” But articles like this make me think, “Lord, expand the horizons of young women searching for more - more of you, more of friends and more in their lives. God wants us all to have life, and life more abundantly. What’s more abundant than to be successful 9 to 5, and being silly with a baby from 5 to 9? Increase, Lord! If Missus HiScrivener is any prototype, I am certain they can take it. (Hi, baby!)

Well, you can, can’t you? What say you?

Welcome to VELOCHAT

Hello ladies! Kristie K here and I’m so glad you are too.

Gas prices don’t letting go to the latest women’s conference? Just don’t get enough talking at your church’s women ministry? Sale racks caught you eye and you missed the last women’s fellowship? Never fear… VELO is here!

This is the blogosphere home of young ladies who love God and can’t get enough fun and fellowship with other women who feel the same. Our Velochat is an extension of VELO, a ministry made for women just like you!

In here, you will learn everything we talk about, write about and pray about is geared to provide young women (in age or at heart) M-O-T-I-O-N (much like the picture seen here… our latest and award-winning book!)

There’s more about the book and what inspired it at our site, VELOCYTE.com. Just peek the link.

So, what are we doing in here? A LOT! You will find many of our Velocytes sharing what’s on their mind - from fashion to fellowship, God to other guys, dating to discipleship, meditation in prayer to mentoring young women to become seasoned in Jesus! (Your life should be salty anyway, right?)

You will see the “VELOCORPS”, which is a collection of nationally-known women’s minstries we support and encourage. Our “VELOCAST OF CHARACTERS” are closer to home - passions and professions of VELOCYTES. There are many things to discuss, but know we will do it all in the name of Jesus and have a blast doing it.

Ready? What say you?
